Depression: You Aren't Alone

We've all felt depressed at some point in our lives. It creeps up on us and makes us feel like life isn't worth experiencing anymore. Our energy levels are depleted and just the thought of doing anything physical is impossible. You start feeling alone and think that no one else out there can possbily understand what you are going through. 


But, depression actually affects more people than you think. Depression is a common mental disorder. 350 million people globally are affected by some form of depression and roughly 20 million people in the United States suffer from depression every year. 1 in 4 young adults will experience depression before the age of 24. Just remember, you aren't alone.


So what can you do to help fight depression? The first thing is realizing that you are depressed and accepting it. Once you've accepted it, you can do a number of things to start feeling better. Many of these things don't require seeing a doctor or taking some sort of medication. Check out the infographic below to get a start on being a happier you:
