Going Back To Nature: Yoga Outdoors

There's really nothing greater than being in the great outdoors. Hearing the birds chirp and seeing the beautiful flowers blooming, you realize just how magical nature is. Nothing really beats feeling the sunshine on your skin or the cool breeze that comes by. You can't help but feel more relieved and relaxed. So, why aren't we doing more Yoga outdoors?

Don't get us wrong, yoga studios are great. Instructors always make sure the environment is calm and peaceful. But, no matter how relaxed a studio environment is, it just cannot compare to nature. Here are 5 reasons why you should start practicing Yoga outdoors.

1. Nature

This is the most obvious reason but also the most important. Practicing yoga outside is a privilege. When you practice outside, you are bringing Yoga back to it's original link with Nature.

2. A New Challenge

{#/pub/images/tumblr_nfd6xcaq6t1tyipapo1_1280.jpg}

Being outside means a new challenge. Finding your footing in sand isn't the same as finding your footing on a flat surface in the studio. An ant might crawl up your leg during a plank or the sun might get in your eyes when you turn to the right. These are all things you tend to avoid in the studio.

3. Amazing Views and Sounds

What's more relaxing than hearing and seeing the waves crashing on shore? What about seeing birds playfully fly with one another, while singing their songs? Nature provides the best soundtrack and environment to get you in the right headspace. You can't help but feel more in tune with everything around you.

4. Embracing Your True Yoga Spirit

Leaving the studio is possibly the best thing you could do for yourself. You are getting away from all the mirrors and designer yoga looks. The 'yoga scene' doesn't exist in the great outdoors and you can leave all your self-dout behind. Outside, you can really focus on yourself and are truly free.

5. After Yoga Activities

After a relaxing session in the studio, you tend to pack up your mat and get in your car to go. But when you practice outdoors, you're in such an amazing place that you're able to take some time for yourself before going onto the next activity for the day. You can take a nice stroll on the beach or through the woods. You can maybe even find a quiet spot to just sit and meditate for a moment.
