The dating game is a difficult and confusing one. You meet so many different people and go on countless dates, just hoping that this will be the one. A lot of the times, you come out exactly in the same spot as you started. Dating is just emotionally and physically exhausting.

However when you do find the perfect person, life is just amazing. Everything feels like it is falling into place and the world never seems to have a dark moment. But is this perfect person really the person you can see yourself with for the rest of your life? Go through the checklist we've compiled to figure out if your partner really is your perfect match.

Chemistry

This might seem obvious but don't overlook it. Having chemistry with the person you are seeing is crucial. If you don't feel something when you see your partner, you have to ask yourself why you are even in this relationship. You want to be with someone that makes you feel something.

Appearance

It might sound superficial but you never know what things will bother you until it's staring you in the face. Do you like to be well groomed or are you ok with a little drab? You might not realize it but appearances do matter.

Economics

Are you ok with dating someone who is in a different economic status as you? Would you prefer that your partner be equal to you or are you ok with bringing a little more to the table?

Lifestyle

What kind of lifestyle do you have? Are you an active person who loves exercising and going out? Is your partner the same or the complete opposite? It isn't uncommon for two people who lead different lifestyles to have problems, but what's important is if the two people can find a balance.

Humor

Having the same sense of humor is essential to a relationship. It's important for you and your partner to be laughing together and enjoying the same things. If you hate crude humor but your partner loves it, you might not have a smooth relationship going forward.

Politics and Religion

Having similar political and religious values as your partner will save you from having many arguments. As with any one you meet in life, you won't always agree with what someone believes in and who/what they support. If your religions and politics are on different ends of the spectrum, it may be difficult for your relationship to progress.

Marriage/Children

Do you both want marriage? If yes, you will also need to talk about whether or not you both want children and how many. For some, marriage and children are not in the picture. You need to ask yourself if you'd be ok to give up these things if your partner does not want either.

Family Approval

Yes, you are the one dating your partner and your happiness is truly what matters. However, how your family reacts to your partner is pretty telling. They are the ones who know you best and may have a better intuition when it comes to whether or not the two of you are compatible.
